It was so nice to meet many of you yesterday at Back-To-School Night! We have some really great kids this year – I am very excited!

This week in geography, we have been reviewing the vocabulary terms from Chapters 1, 2, and 5. We’ve spent some time making crossword puzzles, playing “pictionary” with the key terms, and putting the terms into sentences. We also started our first continent – Europe! Today we had the first Country of the Day (COD) quiz. The COD is the warm up activity the students work on at the beginning of each class period. There are different things they have to find out about the country of the day. They write the answers in their planner, and then every other week we will have an “open planner” quiz.

I also wanted to take a moment and let you all know that I have a student teacher this semester. His name is Robert Shoop, and he has been a lawyer for the past 20+ years and has decided he wants to be a teacher. He will be in my classroom with me until December. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or you can email him at rshoop@lewispalmer.org.

We are going to have a great year! Enjoy the three day weekend!

Welcome to Mrs. Densmore’s World Geography class!

I am so excited to have you or your student in my class this year! This blog has a couple of different purposes. I use it every Friday to email out a weekly update, which is mostly for parents. In class we will use it as a place to have discussions and where I can read your thoughts on some class activities we will do. As I get to know each class better, I will introduce the blog and how we use it (no last names, for example) in class. If you have already found this, feel free to leave me a comment!

Stay tuned….
